Austrian and Italian Alps for CCT's 2014 Summerkids Fri, 15 November 2013
Thanks to contacts made at the Manchester and London Ski Shows by two teenage Ambassadors of our new Kids2Go team, we are now able to add a week's windsurfing or sailing instruction on the beautiful Zell am See in the Austrian Alps near Salzburg to our summer Alpine Healing Holidays program.
Zell am See
Holly and Shannon became Ambassadors for the Charity following their return from a Summerkids Alpine Healing Holiday of Adventure with The Great Escape Morzine, and volunteered to help us at the Ski Shows where we had a stand sponsored by our partners Vos Media Ltd. They became friends there with the proprietors of Fosy Originals who were present at the Ski Shows. They also have rental accommodation at Zell am See and, after talking with our Ambassadors, invited CCT to send a group of kids recovering from cancer to stay there as their guests during the 2014 Summer Half Term. A group of ten youngsters refered to CCT by consultants at hospital paediatric oncology wards will discover the joys of kayaking, windsurfing and lakeland dinghy sailing in a five day proficiency course run by Harry Vettermann at his well known Sail and Surf School there.
Later in the summer another group of youngsters will travel to the beautiful and historic Aosta Valley in the Italian Alps to enjoy a week of varied Alpine activities as the guests of Pila Adventure Holidays. There, they will have the opportunity to explore ancient castles, go white-water rafting, ponytrekking, mountain biking canyoning and marmot spotting!
