Healing Holidays - Alpine Adventure for Snowkids
In 2009 Caring Cancer Trust created the exciting Alpine Snowkids Project for kids recovering from cancer. We were delighted to partner with VOS Media Ltd, launching the project at their annual Ski & Snowboard Show, London Olympia, and in April 2010 we departed for our first trip.
We set off with a group of 10 young kids recovering from leukaemia, bone cancer and related illnesses for an Alpine Snow Adventure holiday at La Plagne in the French Alps. There the children had the time of their life at the magnificent Chalet Maxine donated by our partners Snowfox Holdays and learnt to ski thanks to the outstanding tuition donated by the leading ski school in La Plagne, Oxygene Ski and Snowboard School.

Alpine Snowkids - the 2011 Healing Holiday
Following the outstanding success of our first Alpine Snow Adventure Holiday we have expanded the project each year to give more kids who have suffered from cancer the holiday of their young lifetime, helping to restore their self-confidence and passion for life after such a traumatic and tough period in their early life. Not only this but we have been delighted to embrace Graham Bell, Jenny Jones, and Vos Media's Managing Director Damian Norman as new patrons of the Charity and its Alpine Healing Holidays program.
In 2012 we took groups from five hospitals to La Plagne, La Rosiere and Morzine, in the French Alps, returning to Morzine in 2013.
Following a visit by trustees to the beautiful Aosta Valley in the Italian Alps, we are now preparing to take a group of youngsters from the Royal Manchester Hospital for Children and elsewhere to Pila in the Italian Alps in April, 2014, courtesy of Carole Thorburn of Pilaski who has arranged a fabulous week for the youngsters with the support of Pila Ski School, Hotel Plan Buin, Pila SpA, ski slope restaurant St. Jean and Airport Transfer Services.
Our Alpine Snowkids and Summerkids Healing Holidays for Children with Cancer are managed and run entirely by volunteers.
