Our Kids2Go Healing Holidays programme
We provide special Kids2Go Healing Holidays of Adventure for children recovering from Cancer, helping them to regain their self-confidence and re-ignite their passion for life after the trauma and suffering caused by their illness and lengthy debilitating treatment.
Each year at Easter we take a group of children referred to us by hospital paediatric oncology units to the Alps for a joyful week in the snow where they learn to ski or snowboard in a competitive environment of achievement. When they are able, our patrons Graham Bell and Jenny Jones take time off to join us and inspire the kids with their ski and snowboard expertise and tuition.
In June and July we have taken Kids2Go groups to the mountains and lakes of Austria, France and Italy where they have discovered the thrill of battling the rapids in white water rafting, mountain biking and trekking, horse riding, sailing, kayaking and even paragliding.
We, and our hospital and charity partners, are immensely grateful for the support we receive for our Kids2Go programme. Tour operators, resorts, hotel and chalet proprietors, ski and sailing schools, and many organisations and individuals in the UK unite every year to help us give children in recovery from cancer an unforgettable and enabling experience. Check out our 2016 partners here.
Our 2016 Kids2Go group is chosen from hospitals in southern England and will enjoy a week at Easter in Pila 2000, Italian Alps. At the end of a week on Pila's sunny snowslopes they will show off their new-found skiing skills by competing in a sponsored slalom to raise money for other kids with cancer.
We are extending our Kids2Go activities in 2017 to surfing with the the Escape School of Surfing in Newquay Cornwall, together with archery, bodyboarding and kayaking at the Kingswood Centre on the beautiful Isle of Wight.
