Our Kids2Go Healing Holidays of Adventure

We provide special Kids2Go Healing Holidays of Adventure for children recovering from Cancer, helping them to regain their self-confidence and re-ignite their passion for life after the trauma and suffering caused by their illness and lengthy debilitating treatment.

Each year at Easter we take a group of children referred to us by hospital paediatric oncology units to the Alps for a joyful week in the snow where they learn to ski or snowboard in a competitive environment of achievement. When they are able, our patrons Graham Bell and Jenny Jones take time off to join us and inspire the kids with their ski and snowboard expertise and tuition.

Since 2010 when we took our first Kids2Go group to the Alps, children have benefitted from a week of adventure with the Trust each Easter in the healthy mountain air, stunning scenery and friendly ambience of La Plagne, La Rosiere, Morzine, Pila and Zell am See.

In June and July we have taken Kids2Go groups to the mountains and lakes of Austria, France and Italy where they have discovered the thrill of battling the rapids in white water rafting, mountain biking and trekking, horse riding, sailing, kayaking and even paragliding.

We, and our hospital and charity partners, are immensely grateful for the support we receive for our Kids2Go programme. Tour operators, resorts, hotel and chalet proprietors, ski and sailing schools, and many organisations and individuals in the UK unite every year to help us give children in recovery from cancer an unforgettable and enabling experience. Check out our 2016 partners here.

Our 2016 Kids2Go Adventure group enjoyed a week learning to ski at Pila 2000, in the Italian Alps, courtesy of Pilaski Ltd and Pila Ski School. At the end of their stay they showed off their newfound skiing skills and renewed self-confidence by competing in a sponsored slalom, to raise money for other kids with cancer.

In 2017 we sent two groups of kids from South of England hospitals who were recovering from cancer to the Kingswood Inspiring Learning Centre on the Isle of Wight. They learnt to surf at the island's Isurf School and experienced the Kingswood Centre's testing adventure activities as well as relaxing evenings around a campfire. We thank Co-0p in Ryde and Welcome Store in Bembridge, together with their customers, for their sponsorship.
